Cabinet action needed on threat to Auckland water

Cabinet needs to step in to sort out a battle involving a Landcorp partnership in which Auckland’s major drinking-water source is threatened, Green Party Co-Leader Russel Norman says.

Rob Hamill to Stand for the Green Party

Trans-Atlantic rowing race winner Rob Hamill will be calling on Taranaki-King Country to “Party Vote Green” in the upcoming General Election. “Although political ambitions have never registered highly with me, when Jeanette Fitzsimons asked me to consider standing in Taranaki-King Country, I found it difficult to say no,” says Rob.

Water pollution from intensive industrial dairy conversions is threatening the native species that live in and around our rivers and lakes. Our kids can no longer safely swim in our rivers and even whitebaiting is becoming an endangered activity.

Of course the key decision we will make this year, as a nation, is who will form the government that will start to deal with these issues. Come along and hear some possible Green solutions!
